When we started this project, the biggest change was relocating the washer and dryer from the first floor to the master bathroom on the second floor, where all the bedrooms are located. We opened up the old laundry room, which was located right off of the garage, and created a proper mudroom (check out the boot bench under our Miscellaneous Gallery). Other notable changes in this space included removing the old tub in favor of a large walk-in shower and splitting the long single vanity into two separate vanities. Finishing materials are clean and simple, including white cabinetry, gray Klondike Quartz countertops, 12×24” tile on the shower walls and floors, which are heated, and brushed nickel plumbing fixtures and cabinet hardware. The shower is accented with a glass hexagon mosaic tile for added interest. Overall, we were able to add lots of modern functionality to a large bathroom space.
